Svante is an agronomist and environmental economist. He was previously Secretary General of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation for 16 years. In his role as a national coordinator for a Fossil Free Sweden, he acts as a link between politics and business in order to accelerate the work on making Sweden free of fossil fuels by 2045.

Herman was appointed as Director General of the Swedish Forest Agency in February 2016. Before that he was Head of Forest Management in the Swedish state-owned forestry company Sveaskog. Herman has had various positions in Sveaskog and AssiDomän. His main responsibilities have been forestry, forest management, nature conservation, real estate and forest research. Before taking the position as Director General, Herman was involved in the boards of several forest-related organisations, such as Skogforsk, the Swedish Forestry Association, Setra etc.

Lotta Möller

Lotta works as facilitator and moderator and she has, since September 2019, been running her own consultancy firm. Before that she was Research and Communications Manager at Skogssällskapet which she joined in 2011. Her main focus areas are research funding, extension and how new research findings can be turned into practical tools in the management of natural resources. She has previously held various positions in private forest associations, AssiDomän, SLU and the Ministry of Rural Affairs, as well as being involved in the boards of Skogforsk and Future Forests.  She has an MSc In Forestry, is a certified interpretative guide (CIG) and has studied journalism. 

Karin Fällman

Karin has been working as Sustainability Director at Skogssällskapet since September 2019. Her main responsibilities are sustainability and research funding, as Skogssällskapet is the largest private funder in Sweden for research in silviculture and nature conservation. She has a PhD in Forestry and has spent most of her professional career working with certification issues at a strategic level in FSC Sweden and Sveaskog. 

Liisa Tyrväinen

Liisa is a research professor in outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism at the Natural Resources Institute of Finland (Luke). She coordinated the national research program “Well-being from forests” at the Finnish Forest Research Institute (2009-2014). She leads research work dealing with the health benefits of nature, outdoor recreation, nature-based tourism and, with her team, develops payment models for forest ecosystem services and new business approaches based on forest amenities. She has strong international networks and collaboration across Europe, Japan, China, and the U.S. She has authored 75 articles in peer-reviewed journals and books and has over 250 scientific publications. She is also a member of Metsähallitus board of directors, the organisation that oversees the management and utilisation of state-owned forests and water areas in Finland.

Lena is professor emeritus in conservation biology at the Swedish University of Agricultural Science in Uppsala. She studies biodiversity and conservation in forests, especially effects and efficiency of conservation actions, and how such can be combined with forest management. A strong motivation for her research is to relate to topical questions in forest and conservation practice and policy. 

Håkan Olsson

Håkan is a professor in forest remote sensing at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. He is a member of the steering group that oversees the national laser scanning of Swedish forests as well as being on the National Geodata Committee. He has also served as a panel member in various research councils including ESFRI expert groups for environmental sciences. His research interest is new data acquisition methods for forest resource planning from national to real estate level. He is also a private forest owner.   

Tuula Packalen

Tuula is currently a research professor in forest planning and Programme Director in Boreal Green Bioeconomy at the Natural Resources Institute of Finland (Luke). She holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Geography, University of Edinburgh. She has 30 years of experience in forest planning, with an emphasis on multi-functional forest management. Internationally she has worked, e.g. as the Head of Forest Resources and Information at the European Forest Institute (EFI) as well as the coordinator of the COST Action “Orchestrating forest-related policy analysis in Europe (ORCHESTRA)” and the Horizon2020 project “Distributed, integrated and harmonized forest information for bioeconomy outlooks” (DIABOLO).

Johan Kuylenstierna

Johan is an adjunct professor at Stockholm University and vice-chair of the Swedish Climate Policy Council. He serves on the board of Sveaskog AB, Gothenburg university, Axfoundation, WWF Sweden and Ecogain AB. Johan is an active lecturer and moderator and is also a “climate profile” at the national TV Channel 4. Johan was previously the Executive Director of the Stockholm Environment Institute and has a long, international career from various UN agencies and organizations. 

Frederik Munter

Fredrik has been the CEO of the forest owners association, Mellanskog, since June 2019 with its 26 000 forest owning members. Fredrik has extensive experience working in wood procurement, sustainable forestry and management in different forest companies in Sweden. He is now leading Mellanskog towards its vision, “Together for stronger forest owners and richer forests”. Fredrik has an MSc in Forestry from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).

She is the president of Spillkråkan – the Black Woodpecker – an association for women forest owners in Sweden. Her background is in international business administration and business development in the financial services sector.

Erik manages the digitalisation process at Skogforsk, the Forestry Research Institute of Sweden. The process seeks to exploit the possibilities of digitalisation and develop decision support, standards and remote analysis estimates for sustainable forestry. Erik Willén past of the management team for the newly launched research program Mistra Digital Forest and leads the work package “Efficient forestry”. Erik has more than 20 years’ experience as manager and consultant in the domain of forestry remote sensing, decision support as well as forest and environmental mapping.
