Lantmännen Aspen, a Swedish manufacturer of special fuels will start using renewable raw materials in fuel production. In the future lawnmovers, outboard motors, chainsaws and other small machines with combustion engines can be run by alkylate petrol produced from sugar beets, grain or agriculture and forestry residues.

Alkylate petrol is cleaner than regular one. The availability of alkylate sets limits to its production. This is why alkylate petrol is used where it is most useful, such as small combustion engines. It does not, as regular gasoline does, include benzene or sulphur.
